About Us
Who are we?
The Life Science Student Network was founded in 2014 as an effort to bring together the life science community at U of T and narrow the scope the university covers.
With over a thousand people in lectures, it's easy to be intimidated, but not so easy to meet others and develop the lifelong friendships that make university meaningful. LSSN aims to build a network of students, online and off, by holding social events where students can take a break from books and socialize with others over shared interests and fun experiences.
How do we differ?
There are many clubs on campus that:
A) Target specific subject POSts - and thus project exclusivity to first year students and those not in the POSt. LSSN is open to all students interested in the life sciences - whether your major is Physiology, Economics, or East Asian Studies.
B) Hold academic events - which are interesting the first time you attend them, and soon become repetitive and irrelevant. In addition, academic events tend to replicate lectures where one person is talking at you, rather than having a group of people engaging with each other and holding a conversation.
Where can you find us?
Come meet the Exec Team (we're all friendly and love to meet new people, I promise) and your peers at Our Events!
